Course
The Monterrey Marathon course
Start and finish are in Parque Fundidora, the former steelworks turned city park, with a single 6:45 start and four corrals seeded by predicted finish time. In 2025 the route ran from Fundidora along Avenida Revolución, Garza Sada and Lázaro Cárdenas, entered San Pedro Garza García on Calzada del Valle, came down Humberto Lobo and returned on the express lanes of Morones Prieto to the finish.

- Marathon
- Field
- Capped at 10,000 runners
- Weather on race day
- Mid-December mornings in Monterrey usually start around 10–14 °C and climb toward 20 °C by late morning, often under clear skies, though humidity can be high and a cold front can make race morning much colder. Dress for the start with a throwaway layer and keep drinking steadily as the sun comes up.
What to train for
Monterrey's wide avenues reward even pacing, so build long runs to 32–35 km with the last 10–15 km at goal pace.
Mix in rolling routes and a weekly hill session such as 8 x 90 seconds uphill at 10K effort, so the stretch to and from San Pedro Garza García feels routine.
If this is your first marathon, respect the cut-offs: practise 30 km long runs at your planned pace so 5:00 at 30 km is never in question.
