Course
The Guadalajara Marathon course
Guadalajara's marathon is organised by the city's municipal sports council (COMUDE Guadalajara) in late autumn, and the 41st edition on 30 November 2025 started and finished at the Glorieta de la Minerva on Avenida Vallarta. The route is a certified 42.195 km on the city's broad avenues at about 1,550 m above sea level.

That altitude is moderate: enough to raise your heart rate slightly at a given pace, but far gentler than Mexico City. The exact streets change between editions, so check the organiser's route map once it is published.

- Weather on race day
- Late November in Guadalajara is in the dry season: mornings usually start around 12–15 °C and afternoons reach about 25 °C under strong sun. Rain is unlikely, so the main jobs are drinking regularly and finishing before the late-morning heat builds.
What to train for
Build long runs to 32–35 km with the final third at goal pace, and add a weekly session of 2–3 x 5 km at marathon pace.
Visitors from sea level should expect a small altitude cost at about 1,550 m, so train by effort and heart rate and start a few seconds per kilometre slower than your sea-level plan.
Practise drinking every 5 km on your long runs, because the dry air can dehydrate you quietly.
