Course
The Tilburg Ten Miles course
The Ten Miles (16.1 km), the 10 km and the 5 km all start on the Spoorlaan beside Tilburg Central Station and finish at the Stadsforum in the city centre. The 10 mile route is a single loop with no repeated sections: it heads west out of the centre, swings south, then loops back through the east of the city to the finish.

Streets along the way are decorated by residents, with bands and crowds to keep you moving. Like most Dutch city races it is flat, so the busy early kilometres and the turns are the only things that will slow you. The 10 mile and 10 km courses are officially measured, and in 2026 the Ten Miles went off in waves from 10:30am.

- Weather on race day
- Late September in Tilburg is usually mild, around 10–20 °C through the day, with a fair chance of a shower and a moderate breeze. The late-morning start means a sunny day can feel warm, so drink early and ease your pace a little if it climbs past 18 °C.
What to train for
Ten miles is raced just slower than 10 km pace, so threshold work is the core of your preparation.
Run weekly sessions such as 3 x 3 km or 2 x 5 km at goal 10 mile pace with short recoveries, and build long runs to 18 to 22 km.
On a flat, fast course the risk is starting too quickly, so practise opening tempo runs 5 seconds per kilometre slower than goal pace before settling in. Start in your assigned wave to avoid weaving through the crowded first kilometres.

Taper
Tapering for the Tilburg Ten Miles
Start the taper ten to fourteen days before race day. Cut your weekly volume by about a third, then by half in race week, and keep a few short efforts at race pace so your legs stay sharp. The course is flat, so pacing decides the day: rehearse your goal pace in short segments during race week. With the race on September 26, 2027, your taper starts around September 14, 2027.
