The Hot Chocolate Nashville course

The Nashville stop on the national Hot Chocolate series, starting and finishing at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. A large, festive field across a 5K, a 10K, and a 15K, with the 15K drawing the more competitive runners and the shorter distances bringing everyone else. The chocolate at the finish is a bigger part of the pitch than the course is.

Weather on race day

A cold-weather race by design. Expect a genuinely cold start and dress in layers you can shed.

What to train for

The 15K is an awkward, useful distance: too long to sprint, too short to jog. Threshold intervals and a long run of ten to twelve miles cover it well.
