Course
The Treasure Coast Tri course
The race is based at Jetty Park on Seaway Drive in Fort Pierce, and the swim starts from the sandy beach just south of the jetty: 0.5 miles for the International and 0.25 miles for the Sprint. The Sprint bike is a 12-mile out-and-back along A1A, and the International rides 24 miles.

The run parallels the Fort Pierce Inlet and finishes right out on the jetty, 6 miles for the International and 3.1 miles for the Sprint, which makes for one of the more memorable finish lines in Florida. The International and aquabike start at 6:55 a.m., the duathlons at 7:15 and the Sprint at 7:25, and there are also relays for teams of two or three. 2026 is the 9th annual winter edition, and the race is a USA Triathlon sanctioned state championship ranking event.
- Formats
- International, Sprint
- Race-day conditions
- Water temperature is set on race morning by the USAT official, and as a USA Triathlon sanctioned race the wetsuit rule is the USAT one: legal up to 78 °F, allowed from 78 to 84 °F without award eligibility, and not allowed at 84 °F and above. Early December in Fort Pierce usually runs from lows near 56 °F to highs near 75 °F, so expect a cool transition setup and pleasant, sunny racing, with open coastal stretches on A1A that can bring wind.
What to train for
Practice beach starts: run into the water, dolphin through the shallows and settle into a steady stroke, and sight on buoys in open water at least a few times before race day.
The A1A out-and-back is open coastal road, so ride 2 to 3 x 15 minutes at race effort in a low position and practice holding steady power into a headwind.
Add weekly bricks of 45 to 60 minutes on the bike followed by 15 to 20 minutes at 10K pace. Rehearse a quick turnaround on the bike and save something for the last stretch onto the jetty.
