Course
The Torino City Marathon course
The 37th Turin marathon starts in the city centre at 08:30 and runs a FIDAL-certified route through Turin, Moncalieri, Beinasco and Nichelino, fully closed to traffic, before returning to a finish the organisers call the most striking in Italian marathon running. They bill the course as one of the fastest in Italy, and it passes the royal Savoy residences and the Lingotto on its way through the city.

The organisers publish no elevation figure, so expect broad, fast city and suburban roads rather than a hilly test. The time limit is 5 hours 30 minutes, with a halfway gate at 21.097 km by 11:45; aid stations are every 5 km (water at km 5 and 10, then water and sports drink every 5 km to km 40), and pacers run from 3:00 to 5:30. The Torino City Half Marathon runs the same morning from Piazza Vittorio Veneto to I Viali in Nichelino with a 3-hour limit, and the non-competitive 5 km City Run loops Parco del Valentino on Saturday.

- Weather on race day
- Late November in Turin is usually cold at the 08:30 start, around 2–6 °C, with afternoon highs near 12 °C and humidity around 80%. Rain is not frequent, but fog can sit over the plain around the city, so start with gloves, a hat and a throwaway layer, and take your drinks even though the cold blunts thirst.
What to train for
A fast, flat course rewards disciplined pacing, so build to 32–35 km long runs with the final 12–15 km at marathon pace and run a weekly tempo of 10–14 km at goal pace.
Practise taking your own fuel every 30–40 minutes, since the first two aid stations offer only water.
Rehearse cold-weather starts: do a few long runs early on chilly mornings with a short warm-up, and test the layers you plan to shed in the first kilometres.

Taper
Tapering for the Torino City Marathon
Start the taper two to three weeks before race day. Cut your weekly volume by about a third, then by half in race week, and keep a few short efforts at race pace so your legs stay sharp. The course is flat, so pacing decides the day: rehearse your goal pace in short segments during race week. With the race on November 29, 2026, your taper starts around November 11, 2026.
