Course
The Tjejmilen Stockholm course
Tjejmilen is a 10 km race for women that starts on Djurgårdsbrunnsvägen and finishes on Gärdet, on the green eastern edge of central Stockholm. The course runs through leafy Djurgården and into the city centre, crossing Djurgårdsbron around 5 km and taking in central Stockholm's waterfront before heading back to the finish on Gärdet.

The surface is 92% asphalt, 7% paving stones and 1% cobbles, with officials at every crossing, a sign at each kilometre and four drink stations (water at 2.8 and 8.8 km, sports drink at 4.5 and 7.2 km). Twelve start groups set off in four rounds from 12:00, and runners in the last group can take a shortcut for a 6 km option. Live bands, DJs and cheer squads line the way.

- Weather on race day
- Early September in Stockholm is usually mild: with the first start at noon, expect around 14–17 °C, often with a mix of sun and cloud and a chance of showers. That is comfortable racing weather, so dress light, bring a bag for your clothes in case of rain, and use the sports drink at 4.5 and 7.2 km if the sun comes out.
What to train for
Ten kilometres on mostly fast asphalt is a great chance to run a personal best, and the short paved and cobbled stretches only ask for light, quick steps.
Three runs a week is enough: one easy run, one longer run of 10–14 km, and one key session such as 5 x 1 km at goal pace with 2 minutes of jogging, or 20 minutes at a steady, comfortably hard effort.
Practise a midday run before race day so you know what and when to eat before a noon start, and choose your start group honestly so the first kilometre flows.

Taper
Tapering for the Tjejmilen Stockholm
Start the taper seven to ten days before race day. Cut your weekly volume by about a third, then by half in race week, and keep a few short efforts at race pace so your legs stay sharp. The course is flat, so pacing decides the day: rehearse your goal pace in short segments during race week. With the race on September 4, 2027, your taper starts around August 26, 2027.
