Half marathon runners start from 10:30 in five corrals by expected time, while the 10K and El Quart go off at 9:30. Aid stations are at 5, 10 and 15 km and at the finish, with timing splits at 5, 15 and 20 km.

    Distances
    10K, Half marathon
    Weather on race day
Late January in Granollers is usually cool and dry, with lows around 3 °C and highs near 13 °C, so expect roughly 8 to 11 °C by the 10:30 start. The chance of a wet day is only about 12%, which makes this a reliable time of year for a fast half. Wear a throwaway layer in the corral and gloves if you feel the cold, then enjoy the crisp conditions once you are moving.

    What to train for

La Mitja is a classic early-season target, so use the winter block for steady long runs of 16 to 20 km and weekly tempo work at half marathon pace.

With aid only every 5 km, practice drinking quickly from a cup at those intervals during long runs.

Seed yourself honestly in the right corral (from under 1:20 to over 2:00) and rehearse an even first 5 km so you can run strong through the 15 km aid station and into the finish. A short race-pace session in the final week will keep your legs sharp for a big, fast field of up to 8,000 entrants.
