Course
The Challenge Gran Canaria course
Anfi Challenge Mogán Gran Canaria is built around Anfi del Mar on the island's southwest coast. The Middle Distance swims 2 km in two laps from Anfi beach, rides 80 km in four laps between Anfi del Mar and Taurito, and runs 18 km in four laps along the coastline, finishing on Isla de Anfi del Mar.

The Short Distance swims 1 km in one lap, rides two laps of the same Anfi to Taurito road for 40 km, and runs 9 km in two laps around Playa de Anfi del Mar. A team relay and a junior aquathlon complete the weekend, and the organizers note that distances may still be fine-tuned, so check the final race guide.

- Middle Distance, Short Distance
- Race-day conditions
- Southern Gran Canaria is warm and dry all year, and April highs in Puerto de Mogán average about 21 °C with nights rarely much below 15 °C. Rain is rare on this coast, with only about 168 mm a year, and sunshine is plentiful, so expect bright conditions on the bike and run. Wear sunscreen, drink steadily from the start and use the bike aid stations, because the sun adds up over four laps.
What to train for
The bike repeats the Anfi to Taurito coast road four times on the Middle Distance, so practice riding laps at a steady effort and learn to settle back into rhythm after each turn.
Bike aid stations come roughly every 20 km, including one at Amadores, which makes a simple 20 km fueling rhythm easy to rehearse.
Get some open-water swims in before race day, since the swim starts from the beach in waves called over the loudspeaker. The swim cutoff is 1 h 20 for the Middle Distance and 40 minutes for the Short Distance. Finish your long rides with a short run off the bike to prepare for the lapped coastal run.
