Course
The Padova Marathon course
The marathon starts at 8:30 from the Stadio Euganeo and finishes in Prato della Valle, one of the largest squares in Europe. The route, introduced in 2016 and lightly restyled in 2023, heads out through Rubano, Selvazzano Dentro and Teolo toward the Euganean Hills, then crosses the pedestrian centre of Abano Terme.

The way back to Padova runs through Mandria and via Goito before a closing tour of the historic centre: Piazza del Duomo, Piazza dei Signori, Caffè Pedrocchi, Palazzo del Bo and the Basilica di Sant'Antonio. The half marathon (21.097 km) starts at 9:45 from the Monteortone stadium in Abano Terme, passes Montegrotto Terme and joins the same finish route. The 10Crono is a timed, non-competitive 10 km that starts and finishes in Prato della Valle at 9:15.

- Weather on race day
- April in the Padova area is mild spring weather. Climate normals for 1991 to 2020, measured at Treviso Istrana about 35 km away, give an average April high near 19 °C and a low near 8 °C. The same normals put April rainfall at about 86 mm for the month, so a shower on race day is possible. A morning start keeps you in the cooler part of the day: pack a light layer for the start and dress for temperatures in the low to mid teens.
What to train for
The course leaves the city toward the edge of the Euganean Hills and comes back, so build steady long runs that let you hold an even rhythm for the full distance.
Practise running the second half a touch faster than the first, because the return through the historic centre is where the crowds and the beautiful squares lift you.
Include some cobbled or paved city streets in your training so tight corners in the old town feel familiar. Remember that bibs are only handed out at the Expo in the Padova Fiera from 15 to 17 April, never on race morning, so plan your race weekend around a visit there.
