Half marathoners get seven aid stations, at 14th Street and Jordan Avenue (miles 1.3 and 11.5), the Greenway Park pavilion (miles 4 and 9.2) and the Y at Tinsley Park between the Northbound Greenway and the Casteel Connector (miles 5, 7 and 8.5). Chip timing is by ChronoTrack, and every finisher earns a collectible medal.

- Weather on race day
- Late October in Cleveland is pleasant for racing: WeatherAPI lists October averages of 72 °F for the high and 52 °F for the low. The 8:00 a.m. start usually feels cool, so a light layer you can toss works well. October typically brings about six rain days, so check the forecast and keep a dry layer for after the finish.
What to train for
The middle of the half runs on the greenway, where repeated passes through the Tinsley Park aid station make it easy to break the race into small pieces, so practice long runs split into 3-mile blocks at steady effort.
Build to 10 to 12 miles and include 4 to 6 miles at goal pace once a week.
Mix some greenway or paved trail running into your week to match the surface. 10K runners can sharpen with 5 x 1 kilometer at goal pace with short recoveries.
