It is a single 5 km race with a 5 p.m. start, a music-and-lights festival atmosphere and an arena that opens at 4 p.m. with a group warm-up at 4:20. The riverside park is flat, so this is a course for an honest 5K effort. The organiser publishes no detailed route map, and kit pickup is at the arena from 4:30 p.m. on race day.

- Weather on race day
- Late December in São Paulo is usually warm and humid, around 24–29 °C at a 5 p.m. start, and summer thunderstorms often build in the afternoon. With sunset close to 7 p.m., you will finish in daylight, so drink beforehand and go easy on the first kilometre if it is hot.
What to train for
A flat 5K rewards speed, so add one interval session a week (for example 5 × 1 km at goal pace with 2 minutes easy jogging) and one tempo run of 15 to 20 minutes.
Run some sessions in the late afternoon to get used to racing in summer heat.
On race day, warm up properly at the arena and settle into pace by the end of the first kilometre.

Taper
Tapering for the Night Run Show São Paulo
Start the taper seven to ten days before race day. Cut your weekly volume by about a third, then by half in race week, and keep a few short efforts at race pace so your legs stay sharp. The course is flat, so pacing decides the day: rehearse your goal pace in short segments during race week. With the race on December 26, 2026, your taper starts around December 17, 2026.
