Course
The Meia das Pontes course
A single lap of Lake Paranoá that starts and finishes at the leisure area beside the Ponte JK, the three-arch bridge that is the race's postcard. The first kilometre crosses the JK bridge itself, then the course runs south along the Lago Sul shore on DF-025 to about km 8 before swinging back north, crossing the lake again on the Ponte Costa e Silva around km 13–14 and returning east through the Setor de Clubes Sul to the finish.

The whole race is run at about 1,000 m above sea level, with the official profile topping out at 1,061 m, and the main rises come in the final third, after the second bridge. Roads are wide and smooth, with lake views most of the way. 2027 is the 20th edition, with a 6:30 start and a 4-hour time limit.

- Rolling
- Distances
- Half marathon
- Weather on race day
- March is late in Brasília's rainy season: mornings are usually around 18–21 °C, afternoons reach about 27 °C and humidity is high (around 75%), with rain more likely in the afternoon than at the 6:30 start. The sun at 1,000 m is strong once it clears the horizon, so wear a cap and sunscreen and drink early.
What to train for
The altitude is modest but real: if you live near sea level, expect your usual pace to feel a little harder and set the first 5 km by effort.
Save something for the last third, where the course climbs after the Ponte Costa e Silva, by finishing your long runs with 3–4 km of steady running on a gradual uphill.
Tempo runs of 6–10 km at half-marathon pace on rolling roads are the best single session. Practise drinking from cups on the move, because a fast lakeside loop leaves little reason to stop.

Your build to race day
Taper
Tapering for the Meia das Pontes
Start the taper ten to fourteen days before race day. Cut your weekly volume by about a third, then by half in race week, and keep a few short efforts at race pace so your legs stay sharp. The course rolls, so keep one short session on undulating ground in the first taper week. With the race on March 7, 2027, your taper starts around February 23, 2027.
