Course
The Maratona de Vitória course
Every race starts from Praça do Papa in Enseada do Suá, on Rua Judite Maria Tovar Varejão in front of the Espaço Baleia Jubarte, and the finish area is at the same square. The 5K and 10K (Corrida Orla de Vitória) run on Saturday 28 August at 6:00 a.m. along the waterfront, and the half and full marathon go off together on Sunday 29 August at 5:30 a.m.

On the official 2026 route file, the half marathon heads north along the city's waterfront, turns about 7 km from the start and returns to Praça do Papa. The marathon follows the same northbound waterfront line further, reaching its farthest point around km 22, comes back past the start near km 32 and then runs a final out-and-back of about 4 km to the west before finishing. Two challenge entries combine both days (5K plus 21K, or 10K plus 42K), and the time limits are 6 hours for the marathon, 3 hours for the half and 2 hours for the 10K and 5K.

- Weather on race day
- Late August in Vitória is usually mild and humid at the 5:30 a.m. start, around 19–22 °C, with daytime highs near 27 °C. Rain falls on roughly one day in four, and it warms up quickly once the sun is up, so slower marathoners should plan to drink at every water point in the second half.
What to train for
The 5:30 a.m. start means race-day breakfast around 3:30 to 4:00 a.m., so rehearse that timing on two or three long runs.
Build marathon long runs to 30–32 km with the last 10 km at goal pace, because the long return leg south along the waterfront and the extra out-and-back after km 32 reward a runner who still has rhythm late.
Practise smooth U-turns at pace, since both the half and the full use turnaround points. If you take on the 10K plus 42K challenge, run your 10K on Saturday at an easy, relaxed effort and treat it as a shake-out rather than a race.
