A Kid's Dash for ages 10 and under and an untimed 1 mile round out the morning. Distances
    5K, 10K, Half marathon
    Weather on race day
Late May in Cincinnati is warm, with average highs near 78 °F and lows around 59 °F by the end of the month. Muggy days become more common late in May, roughly one in four, so the early morning start is a real gift. There is about a 39% chance of a wet day, and since the race runs rain or shine, a cap and a light layer are worth packing.

    What to train for

With the exact park course still to come, train on a mix of paved paths, park loops and a few hills so you are ready for whatever the route brings.

Half marathoners can build long runs to 11 or 12 miles, and 10K runners should add a weekly tempo run of 3 to 4 miles near goal pace.

The 7:00 a.m. start means practicing an early breakfast and warm-up a few times before race day. Late May can turn warm, so include some runs later in the day to get used to the heat.
